So this is the post: my goals. I have had some of these goals for years and never been able to accomplish them. In my case, accomplishment is a term for developing a habit- not a one-time deal. There are several habits I would like to have that will make me feel like I am out-of-line until I get them going. When I make these goals habit, I can start getting things done. Until then, I would like to have the folling habits:
1.) Wake up at 6:00 am every morning.
2.) Read the Bible and pray for 20 minutes every morning.
3.) Carry out a intervel training routine, which is 6 days a week.
4.) Lift weights 4 days a week.
5.) Write in the menatheart.blogspot.com blog 1 time a week.
6.) Write in this blog daily with all my progress.
I think these will be a good starting point. I know what to do because I've spent a lot of time thinking about what I'll do, now I just need to do it. Starting tomorrow.
Using a blog as an accountability partner to accomplish my goals step-by-step.
Feasability
Perhaps mediocrity arises when we fear failure. It's quite simple; I call it the "sour grapes" effect. That is, if we really want something that is going to take a lot of effort to acquire, we take all means necessary to reduce that effort by convincing ourselves that we don't desire it anymore, or that it is unobtainable. By doing this, we successfully avoided the effort needed, and got rid of whatever we desired to do in the first place.
Take someone who smokes for example: "I really want to quit smoking, but life has been so stressful." The smoker in that statement has eliminated the desire to quit smoking by convincing his self that it is necessary to do.
I for one have many ambitions that I do not want to get rid of. That is why I have created this blog: an accountability partner for me to achieve my goals. If I blog what I want to accomplish and record my progress and thoughts, I am probably more likely to accomplish my goals. If anyone out there wants to join in this accountability- please feel free to copy my format and comment on my posts. We need all the help we can get- nothing is infeasible
